SKU & Color Variants
When one fabric comes in several colors or specifications, you don't create a separate sample for each. Instead, add variants under a single sample.
Why variants
- Keep one clean record per fabric design
- Track each color / SKU separately for orders and stock
- Avoid a cluttered library full of near-duplicates
How it works
Open a sample and add color variants — each with a color name, a color code and an opening stock figure. Variants live under the one sample, so they can be referenced on orders and tracked in inventory without duplicating the record. Add as many as the fabric needs, or leave the list empty if a sample isn't stocked by color yet.
Images per color
Each color variant can carry its own images — up to 3 per color. These are separate from the sample's main photo galleries and let you show a swatch or detail shot specific to that color. Drag and drop or click to add them when you add or edit the variant.
When to use a variant vs a new sample
| Situation | Use |
|---|---|
| Same fabric, different colors | Variants |
| Same fabric, different widths/finishes of the same design | Variants |
| A genuinely different fabric | New sample |
