Labels & Label Designer

Design your own print labels and print them for any sample, color or fabric roll. Labels pull real data — code, name, composition, width, weight and more — straight from your records, so you never retype anything.

Label types

Labels come in three types, matching what you're labelling:

TypeFor
Sample labelsA sample / fabric.
Color labelsA specific color (SKU) of a sample.
Roll labelsA fabric roll / piece, with roll number, dye lot and length.

Open Labels from the sidebar and switch between the three types with the tabs at the top.

Creating a label

  1. Click New label.
  2. Give it a name and pick a paper size (common thermal-label sizes are listed, or enter a custom width × height in millimetres).
  3. Click Create & design — the designer opens.

You can also click Add preset to start from a ready-made template, then tweak it.

The designer

The designer is a drag-and-resize canvas. Add elements from the left rail:

ElementWhat it does
TextFixed text you type in (e.g. a heading).
Auto fieldA placeholder like Code or Composition that's replaced with the real value when printed.
BarcodeA Code 128 barcode bound to a field (the code by default).
QR codeA QR code that links to the sample's online page.
ImageUpload a logo or picture.
Rectangle / Circle / LineSimple shapes and dividers.

Select any element to edit it in the right panel: position and size, rotation, font, size, bold / italic / underline, alignment, color and vertical text. For an auto field or barcode, choose which field it shows.

Handy shortcuts

  • Delete removes the selected element.
  • Arrow keys nudge it (hold Shift to move further).
  • Ctrl / ⌘ + Z undo, Ctrl / ⌘ + Shift + Z redo.
  • Ctrl / ⌘ + S saves.

When you're done, click Save.

Auto fields

Auto fields are the heart of a label — you design once and every print is filled in automatically. Available fields depend on the label type, and include: code, name, English name, composition, width, weight, specification, type, style number, finishing, price, company name, print date, and — for color and roll labels — color code, color name, dye lot, roll number and quantity.

Managing labels

On the Labels page, hover a label to:

  • Set as default — used automatically when you print that type.
  • ✏️ Edit — reopen the designer.
  • 📑 Duplicate — copy it as a starting point.
  • 🗑️ Delete.

Printing a label

From a sample (or goods) detail page, click Print label:

  1. Pick which label to use (your default is pre-selected).
  2. Choose how many copies.
  3. Click Print label — a print page opens with the real sample data filled in, ready to send to your label printer.

TIP

Labels work great with thermal label printers. Set the paper size when you create the label to match your printer's stock.
